I’m Lasitha Gunasekara, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Then I completed my Master’s degree in Pure Mathematics at Florida State University. Currently, I’m pursuing my Ph.D. in Scientific Computing at the Florida State University.
I’ve worked as a Teaching Assistant and currently serve as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, which has helped me grow both as a mentor and a communicator in scientific and technical subjects.
Outside of academics, I enjoy playing cricket and learning about the stock market, especially exploring trading strategies and long-term investing.
Looking ahead, I’m open to career opportunities in both academia and industry. On the academic side, I’m interested in postdoctoral positions as a stepping stone toward a long-term professorship or college-level teaching role. On the industry side, I would be glad to contribute to research and development in well-established, reputable companies. I’m excited to apply my skills in environments where I can learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact.
